They are a long-acting infusions that helps slow bone loss and strengthen bone structure.
Treatment is typically given once every 12 months, depending on your doctor’s recommendation.

Steroid-induced osteoporosis

What to Expect

Before booking a bone support infusions, you’ll need:

A recent bone density scan or diagnosis of osteoporosis
A prescription or referral from your GP or specialist
You may be asked to have a blood test to check your calcium or kidney function

Your Appointment

On the day of your appointment:

You’ll be welcomed into a quiet, comfortable treatment room
The medication will be given via a slow IV infusion or injection, depending on the prescription
The treatment usually takes 30–60 minutes, followed by a short observation period
Mild side effects such as flu-like symptoms or joint pain can occur in some people
You can usually return to normal activities the same day

Infusion Cost

This covers clinical assessment, monitoring, and infusion administration in our specialised outpatient facility. A $65 surcharge applies to weekend appointments.
