- Treatment is typically given once every 12 months, depending on your doctor’s recommendation.
Conditions Treated
Bone support infusions may be recommended if you have:
- Postmenopausal osteoporosis
- Osteopenia (low bone density with fracture risk)
- Steroid-induced osteoporosis
- Osteoporosis in men
- Paget’s disease of bone
- Bone loss related to cancer treatments
- Fracture prevention in high-risk patients
What to Expect
Before booking a bone support infusions, you’ll need:
- A recent bone density scan or diagnosis of osteoporosis
- A prescription or referral from your GP or specialist
- You may be asked to have a blood test to check your calcium or kidney function
Your Appointment
On the day of your appointment:
- You’ll be welcomed into a quiet, comfortable treatment room
- The medication will be given via a slow IV infusion or injection, depending on the prescription
- The treatment usually takes 30–60 minutes, followed by a short observation period
- Mild side effects such as flu-like symptoms or joint pain can occur in some people
- You can usually return to normal activities the same day

Infusion Cost
$185
This covers clinical assessment, monitoring, and infusion administration in our specialised outpatient facility. A $65 surcharge applies to weekend appointments.
